Two studs will be joining the America’s Next Top Model panel, replacing Nigel Barker and J. Manuel. The new judge taking Nigel’s seat is male model Rob Evans. Evans isn’t a has-been model like many who have been on Tyra’s panel, but he is still working and has quite the successful career appearing in Vogue, walking in runway shows for design house Givenchy and being in Calvin Klein campaigns. The girls will have stylist Johnny Wujek on hand during their photo-shoots, J’s former post. He is responsible for Katy Perry, Camilla Belle and Rachel Bilson’s coveted wardrobes. I mean, those girls are the A-list when it comes to fashionistas. There is no one more qualified for the job than Wujek. Remember Katy Perry’s cupcake bras and whipped cream bikini for the Candy Land-themed “California Gurls” video? That was all him.
These are not the only changes we will see next season. The show is moving from Wednesday nights to Friday! You know what they say about Fridays… it is where shows go to die. We hope that isn’t true for ANTM although the ratings have been less than stellar lately.
Also, because Tyra just graduated from Harvard, she’s decided to dedicate the next season to all girls who are getting their education. That is great, but isn’t the prize a modeling career? You don’t really go to school to be a model… just sayin’. If this were a show for doctors or teachers I could understand. But, I guess this is Tyra’s way of showing how important education is and we can’t hate on that.
